Mask any element
Pick a single field, or switch to “Similar” to cover every row of a list in one click.
Browser extension for Chrome & Edge
Click anything on a web page to mask it: emails, API keys, revenue, customer names. HushMask remembers it and hides it again before the page appears, every time you come back.
How it works
No rules to write and nothing to configure. Point, click, and HushMask takes care of the rest.
Open HushMask, choose a tool and click the email, number or panel you want to hide. Mask one element, everything like it, or a whole table column.
Masks are saved for the site as you go. No dialogs, no “remember to save”. Remove them one by one or all at once.
Next time you open the site, masks are applied before the first frame is painted, so nothing flashes on screen during a refresh.
Features
Built for people who demo, teach and present live web apps.
Pick a single field, or switch to “Similar” to cover every row of a list in one click.
Shift-click a cell to hide its entire column, header included. New rows are masked as they appear.
Drag a rectangle over anything: charts, maps, video. Choose whether it shows on this page, this exact URL or the whole site.
Draw a region inside one tab’s content and it only appears while that tab is open, following it as the layout moves.
Press Alt+Shift+H to hide the whole page instantly. One switch turns every mask on or off.
Solid masks by default, in black, grey or white. Blur is there when you want a softer look.
Back up your masks to a file and move them to another browser. Your data is never held hostage.
Single-page apps, infinite lists, late-loading content and same-site iframes are all covered.
No flash on refresh
Most masking tools wait for the page to load and then cover things up, so a refresh can show your data for a split second, which is exactly what a recording catches. HushMask injects its rules before the page is painted, so the browser’s own style engine hides the content as it appears.
Measured on our test pages in Chromium. No tool can promise zero exposure on every site, so always check before you go live.
Who it’s for
Record dashboards, consoles and settings pages without blurring every frame in post-production.
Demo a client’s admin or your own product without exposing other customers’ data.
Share your screen on calls without showing tokens, personal details or internal numbers.
Private by design
HushMask has no servers that see your screen. It works on the page in front of you and keeps masks in your browser’s local storage.
No page content, screenshots, recordings or URLs are uploaded. There is no AI and no cloud processing.
HushMask asks for access to a site only when you turn it on there. It stays asleep everywhere else.
Use it right away. Pro is a license key, not a login.
Straight answers
We would rather tell you now than have you find out on a live call.
Masks change what the page shows, so viewers see the same masked page you do. It is a presentation aid, not a security control: the data is still in the page.

FAQ
Yes. HushMask changes the page itself, so everyone sees the masked version: you, your recording and the people on the call. It does not create a private view that only you can see.
No. Masking runs entirely in your browser and your masks are stored locally. The only time HushMask contacts our server is to check a Pro license key, and that request contains just the key and a random installation ID.
The free version works on one website (one hostname, such as admin.example.com) at a time, with as many masks as you like there. To use it on another site, HushMask asks you to replace the first one, and offers to export a backup first. Pro removes the limit.
No. Pro is a one-time payment of $29. You keep it, and updates to the extension are included.
One license works on up to 3 browser installations at the same time. You can free a place at any time from the Manage license page, for example after you reinstall your computer.
No. Saved masks never depend on the network. Pro checks the license in the background once a day and keeps working offline for 90 days.
They keep working. A license problem never switches masks off, because that could expose data. You would only be unable to add masks on extra sites until it is fixed.
Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge on Windows, macOS, Linux and ChromeOS. Other Chromium browsers usually work too. Firefox is planned.
